Creating a Shared Vision for Revising General Education at WSU
With the report of the General Education Visioning Committee (GEVC)approved by the WSU Provost in December 2009, the process to develop a revised program continues to move forward. It is imperative to have a broad discussion of the topic University-wide, and to have that process be collaborative and transparent.
THE REPORT: The 51-page GEVC Report addresses the Provost's charge in October 2008 to "provide a basis for direction and strategy for general education" at WSU.
REVISING GENERAL EDUCATION AT WSU: The work of the GEVC is complete. The General Education Committee (GEC), which reports to the Provost through the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, will coordinate further implementation activities.
